Please note:
In the case of most equipment with detachable "computer" power cords, such as most computers and monitors, etc., these cords are treated as a separate items. For example, a typical PC and monitor combination with detachable cords will total four items: the PC, the monitor, and the two power cords.
Following City & Guilds guidelines, this is standard practice in PAT testing, as the tests performed on a power cord are quite different from the tests performed on a PC or monitor, etc, as the cord may have a fault that may not be detected whilst it is plugged into the equipment. We do sometimes come across power cords that fail safety tests; unless the cord is tested independently from the equipment that it is plugged into, any fault in the cord may go undetected.
In addition we can add you to our Management Database which records testing frequencies will automatically issue a reminder when individual items are due to be re-tested.
